"The cast is great, the humor broad... at heart it's a serious coming of age story couched in... slapstick comedy." - Anthony Glassman, Gay People's Chronicles

"The Curiosity of Chance by director Russell P. Marleau is an excellent coming-of-age film perfect for the inner teenager in all of us. Think of it as a queer Pretty in Pink. Chance Marquis is an out and eccentric 16-year-old who rallies an unusual team of friends outcasts, drag queens, and a straight jock he's crushed out on to triumph over his high school's resident homophobic bully. (Marleau and the adorable "jock," Brett Chukerman from Eating Out 2, attended the screening.) The Curiosity of Chance gets my vote for a GLAAD Media Award and should be required viewing in high schools everywhere, for the tolerance and fun of it."

May 22, 2007 (Los Angeles, CA) - Other highlights among Frameline31's US features include Hollywood chameleon Alan Cumming's solo directorial debut, Suffering Man's Charity, a malevolent comic bow to the Grand Guignol that stars Cumming, who will attend the Festival, as a failed music composer with a weakness for impoverished young men with great aspirations. The Curiosity of Chance (Dir. Russell P. Marleau) is like a loopy, gay Pretty in Pink, while Outing Riley, the second feature...
